The Sploder HTML Guide

If you're looking here it is probably because you want to learn HTML or you want to just see the guide.
This guide will show those who don't know it, how to use HTML. This website is full of HTML yet quite a few members don't know it. Well, you found the right place to learn.

Although HTML can be fun to use, you need to know when enough is enough. You don't want to push it too far (e.g. using it everywhere) as this is called HTML abuse. A very easy way to get in to PoW Camp.

Picture HTML

Picture coding is probably the most used code on this forums. Many people use it to post funny images in threads.
The code:
[img src="insert image URL here"/]
Replace the [ & ] signs with < & > signs.

Font Coding

There are many different types of font coding such as colour and size. Font coding can make your thread look a lot more appealing to read.

Font Size:
This make you text bigger or smaller. Here's how:
[font size=#]put text here[/font]
Replace [ & ] signs with < & > signs.

Example:

Size 1
Size 2
Size 3
Size 4
Size 5



Font Colour:
Font colour makes you text look different colours. Here's how:
[font color=font colour here]text here[/font]
Replace [ & ] signs with < & > signs.

Example:

I like the colour yellow



Different Font:
This can make your text look different to the normal font. Here's how:
[font face=name of font]text with new font[/font]
Replace [ & ] signs with < & > signs.

Bold, Italic and Underline

You can also make you text either bold, italic, or underlined (like I have in the title.)

Bold: text here

Moving Text or Marquee

Moving text/Marquee can make your text move across the page which can make banners or updates. Here's how:

You can even make your text go in different directions such as up, down, left and right. Here's how:

Hyperlinks

Hyperlinks are highlighted words that when you click on them, lead you to another place. They are commonly used on websites. Here's how:

Other HTML

These are just bits of html that really don't actually need a category of their own as they are so small and hardly ever used.

Separation Lines
These aren't used too much as nobody really knows about them or they just aren't useful. Well, they can be for separating bits such as different things in your post. I've used the quite a lot in this guide to separate the different categories.It's pretty easy. Here's how:

Videos
Many people embed videos on here that they think are funny/good/strange. It is a useful thing to know just as a sideline an is very easy, in fact - there isn't any code to remember. =P
Here is a step by step way to embed your youtube videos. THIS IS ONLY FOR VIDEOS ON SITES SUCH AS YOUTUBE.

1) Go to the video you want to embed.
2) Then, click on 'Share'.
3) Then click the 'Embed' button.
4) Finally, copy and paste the embed code into the comment box and post it. You have a video!
