General / The Sticki Situation

My main problem here is that I legitimately don't know what Sticki has done for this website to make it 'better.'  If he has done so much, why can't someone actually list a few concrete accomplishments he has made on here?  What are some concrete things that he has improved?  Every time I ask that, I get the same old answer than I am not appreciative or whatever, but if he has actually done for this site, then why not you guys on the other side also take to explain?

Also, my experiences with Sticki aren't just limited to that one Editor Recruitment incident either.  There honestly hasn't been a time on this site when I personally have legitimately felt good about interacting with him - at least not in the past 3-4 years or so.  But to keep the past out of this, even if we just take the past Editor Recruitment situation over the past few months my reasons for distrusting him can clearly be seen.  Here are a few reasons why, and why people will continue to take his side regardless:
1) He continues to change the story in favor.  He went on to say peppered asked first and that's why I didn't get it in discord earlier today, but when I asked him about it AT THE TIME, he said the reason why is because they wanted to end the consolidation of power.  I only spoke out about anything when I pointed out how having me run one of the recruitments wouldn't be a consolidation of power and how my recruitment, especially for the editor, ran perfectly well the past 2+ years.  Meanwhile, peppered wasn't even an editor of the time.  Plus, if I ran one of three recruitments, I don't really see how that would count as a 'consolidation' of the power either...
2) He has taken any advantage possible to make sure I haven't become any of the positions.  He claims I forced peppered to give me the position (another lie but let's just take his word for it to simplify things).  Yet, even though I was 'on the last straw,' he legitimately didn't even ever tell me why I was or what we would like to see different from me.  Does that sound like a good leader of a site to you?  If he actually wanted me to change my system and wanted to give me a 'second chance,' he would have been proactive in voicing his concerns to me after I "forced the position out of peppered." 
3) He has taken actions against me without consulting other moderators.  Mat literally just posted master's concerns about my system in Lt. League to bring up the potential point and go from there (Mat told me he didn't want me demoted in a dm and Sticki took actions immediately from there).  I asked Sticki about this, and he said other moderators were against me running it in the past so he just immediately took action...  Um, that just sounds like taking advantage of the situation and his desire to make sure I didn't run it over actually working with everyone to make sure actions are taken in the site's interests.

Anyway, please respond to the first part of my post if nothing else.  What has Sticki done for you?  What has he done for me?  What has he done for the whole community?  Maybe some insight into the concrete impact he has had would make me change my mind.

General / Opportunity for $100,000 - Anyone Interested?

Would anyone be interested in working on a collab game and competition entry that combines both gameplay with teaching players about food scarcity?  The competition allows you to basically submit anything that helps in solving and spreading awareness of global food scarcity so I was thinking submitting a video game that teaches these lessons could be unique Andy otbetially help everyone involved get a nice prize with some decent $$$.  Top 100 entries get like $200 each with top 3 getting $1,000s and 1st overall getting $100,000.  Entry would involve both game and some written responses as well.  Let me know if you’re interested in being part of a collab. for this and if so, we could discuss further details.  Note that the entry is due May 1st so you would need to be able to work on it lots btwn now and then and you must be 18 or younger to be part of team.

step 1: initial app (kept b/c it always for pre-screening to make sure applicants who apply are actually viable candidates and don't waste their time with further stages - this would be improved to allow anyone who reasonably has a shot at editor (i.e. isn't extremely immature i.e. automatically passes as long as their application is within reason -> this would make it less 'based on my opinion' than before), step 2: follow-up questions in pms (make sure they can actually defend what they said and it has substantive value - I will ask them to provide 5 games that fit into the narrative they are trying to build for themselves as an editor for this stage -> stages will vary based on the person but all will be judged equally and fairly -> different people have different goals and agendas as editors so this allows them to convey this), step 3: applicants write a review on a game they find feature worthy (can currently either be feature or unfeatured, though preferably unfeatured but they can pass either way - they can 'reserve' games though if they do find one before this stage), stage 4: voting (would be willing to do down to 70-75% depending on the general consensus)
all time limits would also be essentially removed (applicants would have 1 month per stage), so they can take the adequate time they need to complete stages yet there would be the 1 month restriction to prevent members from taking a break for like 2-3 months and then coming back for example
other pm'd tasks would be removed
tl:dr -> stage 1: initial stage (all accepted if they have a realistic possibility of becoming editor and don't blow off app), stage 2: follow-up (ask few questions based on app, they provide 5 games to supplement their responses), stage 3: review (analyze why they find a game feature worthy essentially), stage 4: voting (70-75% yes needed based on general consensus)

1) Make sure the staff actively and clearly communicate with members what they hope to accomplish and suggest improvements if they see them so that the public is fully aware of them.  For instance, if forums moderators want a recruitment center to be changed up, then they tell that member.  If forums moderators want a board, such as the Debate Tower, run differently, then they communicate these ideas clearly to the member in charge of the Debate Tower.  In doing this, they can ensure ever member is in the same page and everyone feels adequately adressed and valued in the community.  If members don’t comply, then further actions can be taken.
2) Start new initiates to engage members.  This can include temporary events like  game shows, forum weekend events, game-making competitions, etc. or more long-term categories and boards.   There are truly a wide range of possibilities as far as this goes.  By continually starting up new events, this can allow members to feel engaged and have a consistent reason to come back and check on Sploder.  This is a small community so having events that keep everyone interested and involved could definitely go a long way.
3) Ensure a diversity of thoughts in the staff.  While it obviously makes it easier when everyone agrees on most issues and it may seem like more people are on the same page, debates can allow for new and better ideas to develop and form.  Diversity of thought can allow moderators to reach new conclusions that take into account a wide range of opinions from all members on the site. 
4) Active members are promoted to leadership positions and inactive members are demoted.  If people keep their positions for doing nothing, things can get stagnant.  If people have no potential to move to a position where they can further get their ideas accomplished, this can demotivate them to continue staying on there site.  Those who are most active should be the ones who largely determine what direction the site goes in. 
5) Provide people a reason to keep coming back.  While this goes in line with the other ideas, it’s important that people feel a reason to keep coming back and don’t feel distanced from the community.  With members leaving, this is more important that other.  Items 1-4 in this list are some of the many ways that can be used to help accomplish this.

Interested in becoming an editor? If so, then this is the right place!  How does it work?  Find out in this simple outlined step by step process...

Step 0: Rules
1) NO getting help on ANY of parts of your application whatsoever, including advice from those who have previosuly applied to the center or current editors.  Failure to do so is very severe and will result in a permanent ban from the recruitment center.
2) You must wait a month between getting denied or else there will be a three-month application penalty.
3) NO wasting Meta's time with useless posts in this thread. :/
4) The owner of this thread reserves the right to take any actions or add any rules not currently in the established rules list on a case by case basis.

Step 2: Wait for Response
I will evaluate your application to determine whether you'll be denied or given the next stage of the application.

(2) If you pass, I will pm you second stage of the test.  You will have three days to pm me a response.  I will then evaluate what you send in.
(3) If you pass again, I will pm you third stage of the test.  You three days to pm me a response.  I will then evaluate what you send in and see if you can move onto next stage.

Step 4: Evaluative Task
If you successfully complete all the tasks in step 3, you will have to write a review on a game that you find feature worthy.  You will have one week to do this.

Step 5: Voting Stage
A group editor recruiters (listed near the bottom of the post) will vote on your overall performance, paying particular attention to your response from Step 4. 

Step 6: Glory
If you pass with an 80% yes vote, you came out victorious! 8)
