Seems like yesterday when I joined this website as hadiclank, and never did it cross my mind would I ever start making some of my first online friends here and flex my creativity skills for very long.

And fast forward 10 years later, yesterday somehow marked my 10th anniversary on Sploder. I think it's bloody remarkable considering I joined the site exactly ten days after I turned 10, and I posted this on the discord which levelled me up to Level 110 on Tatsumaki, so it's probably in my greater defence to say.

All in all, it was a pretty flamboyant and exuberant experience. Even if it somewhat felt overdramatic, I really enjoyed being here, learning from you guys and making some fun groovy stuff here that would help me think outside the box for a little bit. From the day I joined chatting with Vinniepaz, Bobbler's abs to 16 total features to reviewer to MSM that one time.

I just hope as long as this site still stands, that I have the time and passion once again to try out new things and flaunt more of my gamer e-boy skills but I suppose it's not too late to get back into the grind and go figure I guess.

It's been an astonishing adventure overall, even if it was simply just an escapade from the rust and bust of everyday life but I'm grateful for it nonetheless.

 :)

« on: January 10, 2019, 07:11 pm »
I have a game coming out soon that i would like to have reviewed. Can you check out my game Fallen Kingdom, too?

You mean this game?

Sure I can definitely do platformers, can you give me up to one or two days tops to get my hands on this?

I'll give you feedback and tell you whether I'll review it or not.
Thank you kind sir for being the first to apply in 2019.

10th January 2019

After six long years, I hereby re-open this reviewing stand to offer this chance for current and upcoming sploderians to finally get their games reviewed, and do my part in letting Sploder continue to blossom until the very end.

In the beginning of Sploder, Almighty Geoff said, ''LET THERE BE GAMES!"

General / Re: What was your favorite childhood friend like?
« on: January 06, 2019, 03:47 pm »
The first best friend (and especially the most memorable one) I ever had, dates back to very early grade school, nearly 15 years ago now. Back when I lived down in the country, very close to the coast. His name is Gregory. Both our parents knew each other because both were doctors and worked in the same hospital.

We'd hang out and play tag or hide-and-seek-ish games for recess, in each other's houses after school, to birthday parties, and we would draw comic book strips together, read Captain Underpants books and make up our own superhero aliases based on our identity. (Hadiman/GregBoy - spin off Mermaidman and BarnacleBoy) After a few short years, the DS and Wii was released, and it was circa 2007-2008, and we'd hang out at his house to play Mario Strike Football, Mario Kart DS or Super Smash Bros. Brawl for hours on end.
Then my dad got a job in the city so my family had to move, and it was sad enough saying goodbye. We left so soon after my ninth birthday, but I remember it really well. He couldn't make it to my birthday so he gave me a crazy frog keyring and remembered saying he was going to move to the city in a couple of years but doesn't know when.

Fast forward over 10 years later, October 2018, when I decided to get back on Facebook, it suddenly crossed my mind to see if my old friend from 10 years ago was on it, because pretty much everyone ik is on fb these days. And sure enough he was on it and it brought so many good memories, but sad enough we missed our teenage years. I did a bit of searching on his profile and realized we actually go to the same university!
The next few days I consoled with some of my friends at college about whether I should add him on FB or not because I was so self-conscious about it, and I was wondering if he'd even remember me.
I got a lot of support from friends and eventually mustered up the courage to add him and then I realized we share mutual friends with one guy I know from my high school who also goes to my uni. Turns out they do the same major - computer science.

So I added him and we suggested to meet up at the café beside my uni late in the evening and man we just talked and tried to catch up with all the stuff I missed in the past ten years, about my old school friends from that time and anything bizarre that has happened.
After that, it was such a refreshing feeling coming home that night because I've never had a close friend than him and it was such a long time ago. Never would I have thought as well would he have decided to go to one of the best unis in the country in the heart of suburbia, when we both grew up far away as simple village folk in the early '00s and it was a much simpler time.

Just made me realize anything is possible, as corny as that sounds.
I was honestly grateful.

As much as it really did give that unique taster to the forum, actively anticipating whether and when you'll be chosen or not, at least accepting it for all moves past all that position bias and hierarchy and besides the community's more or less about the same and aged.
I suppose it really takes a discord environment to see all this, doesn't it. Honestly glad we can put the past aside, it's a different era for sploder we're moving in the right direction imo

hey

don't forget in case we can't fast forward in time to a later backup, at least we can still glimpse back.. or glimpse forward if that makes sense, of some of the stuff almost leading up to the point the forums initially collapsed back in August.

Use this as a starting point.
