Experiences tell me that most people remain the same for the entirety of their life. So you're not alone on that, it's more common than you might think. The only people who truly properly change, are the ones who are willing to make the greatest sacrifices to their lives to affect their personality over time. This demands patience, skill and hard-work in-order for it to even work, and that I would say definitaly takes several years to achieve.
Yes surely my character has undergone many changes large and small, deliberate or incidental, from my own volition or by the influence of those I form connections with. But just as your gene expression can be changed by external factors, your DNA will always remain the same, and your perspective on these dynamics will change with broader experience.
still couldn't spell awesome correctly though. hahahahha, moron  :))
Yes yes I've already heard it a hundred times

General / I can feel.... Ten Years Gone
« on: December 16, 2019, 03:49 pm »
Sometimes I feel like seeing what's going on here, usually just for a few minutes before I leave without a word. I don't recall posting anything in years, and I don't know how well I'll be remembered, but the perseverance of the few strands of community left here should say enough about the impression it leaves on you.

I joined this site just before starting 6th grade in 2010, almost ten years now. When you're that young ten years seems like an almost infinite amount of time, encompassing practically your whole life, but as time goes by those ten years start to crystallize like bricks in a wall. I'm only 20 now but it would feel like a lifetime to my self back then. What's left of my activity here isn't a complete portrait, and I assume most of it has been lost, but when I read over my old posts I feel almost painfully embarrassed. I wanted so badly to be seen as mature but the way I presented myself was far more childish than truly acting like a child. I felt like I was smarter than everyone else and I had to prove it on this stage where it probably mattered the least but was one of my only outlets for recognition.

The truth is that I still feel like I'm smarter than everybody, even among my peers at a "prestigious" university, and still I sometimes feel the need to be recognized for it, and still I end up making a fool of myself because of it. Of course I feel like I've come a long way these ten years, but I'm still very much the same person I was whether I like it or not. It's still hard to find people to relate to and I still end up coming back here for some reason even though it no longer means to me what it used to.

Someday I know we'll all have to leave this behind, but for now, as I look to the future, I often look into the past to better feel who the person I was is, and maybe learn something about who I am now. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe in another ten years I'll look back on this and feel just as embarrassed. In fact I'm sure of it.

But hey, if you're into emulation, do yourself a favor and play Earthbound if you haven't already, instead of paying a large amount of money like some of us had to do.

Can YOU read Japanese!?
No, but maybe I should learn with the price of these Japanese carts, am I right? Yeeeaaahh!!! Anyone? No?

*ahem* Just to clarify I do not.

General / Re: Who here plays Final Fantasy?

Emulators? Ha!

Okay, actually Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 in Japan) is one of the few games I condone playing via emulation, due to the massively outrageous amount of random encounters and sheer impossibility of level grinding without a turbo button. Other than that, if you're not playing on the original hardware then you're just shortchanging yourself.

Aside from all that, I do regard Final Fantasy as the third greatest gaming franchise of all time, or maybe fourth after I play some more Dragon Quest games.

*sighs* Look it up. -_- Speed is the only thing Genesis beat SNES in.

But really I knew you were serious. I don't even like the Genesis. Or Sega.

General / Re: I'm Gonna Say What We're All Thinking
« on: June 21, 2013, 02:04 am »
Aw hell naw.
I take that back actually. I like Final Fantasy 6 more, but objectively Chrono Trigger is better because of the random encounters. Sweet damn were there way too many in FF6.

As soon as Earthbound is released on the Virtual Console the WiiU will clearly be the best choice. Clearly.

What's hilarious is, the SNES beat the Genesis in every aspect excepting speed.
Actually, the same technology that powered the Sega Genesis also sent men into space. That's where they got the blast processing.

Lets preface this by saying that very few to none of you were actually thinking this.

Yeezus is a big letdown except Bound 2. Watching Movies With the Sound Off is at least 50% fantastic. Diplo is easily the worst hip-hop producer to date. 2 Chainz is potentially the worst rapper of all time, right up there with Tyga. Super Mario Bros. 3 isn't actually that good. Link to the Past is easily the most overrated game of all time. Please mail me your loose copies of Earthbound. Video games have probably peaked with the Playstation 2 or in some circles the SNES. Final Fantasy 6 is better than Chrono Trigger. People that own Macs are easily manipulatable. People that do not mail me Earthbound are simply not living life to its fullest extent.

I hate fanboys as a whole. By this I mean people who blindly support something, disregarding the fact that they're right or not. So pretty much I hate this console war and those who actually care. At least we're not back to 'Genesis does what Nintendon't'.

It's a little wonderful something called "PC".
You're the worst.

For God's sake, people, buy a SNES! For your own good!

I half agree.
As a very cynical human being this is the kind of thing I dispute with myself often. Is it a good way to live? Probably not. But it makes me glad.

I thought Macklemore was a joke until I heard Same Love.
Nah, he just did that for public appreciation. Obviously whoever does his public relations had the great idea of him singing 'from the soul' about gay rights. You'd be surprised what people will do for success. I mean look at Apple, Inc.

I don't see how it could get much worse than Macklemore. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh

Too expensive and too much work to be worth it.
That's more or less what I expected.

Uhm, this is the dumbest educated guess I have:

I think there is a GBA USB cord for the computer, if there's not and you know it, then don't bother reading on. But anyway, you put Mother 3 in the computer program your using, then insert the empty ROM cartridge into the GBA and it might be able to import or something...?

Idk I'm a newbie at this stuff.
That is an interesting and plausible idea, but it would only be possible if GBA carts ran off EEPROMs, which I doubt they do. Although, I'm not too familiar with GBA hardware, but I assume it runs on good 'ol ROMs or (though unlikely) EPROMs. If ROMs, this could be a rather difficult process if possible at all.

Hi, my name is Ben and I need help from You! Yes, You! Should You have experience or knowledge of hacking game ROMs, specifically those from the GameBoy Advance, then You are the one I'm looking for!

Some of you have probably heard of Mother 3--the third game in the Mother/Earthbound series, my personal favorite series of all time, and unfortunately only released in Japan. Fortunately for me and for You, a dedicated team of translators worked for two years to bring us Mother 3 in stunning English! Stunning!

This game is the perfect archetype for what I'm trying to do. What is it I'm trying to do? I'm going to try to wipe the ROM from a donor GBA cart and put the stunning English ROM of Mother 3 onto it, so I can play Mother 3 on my real life Gameboy Advance SP! (which I don't actually own!)! Of course, I could just buy the EZ Flash IV or whatever and upload the game to SD card which will play, but that's for n00bs and requires no skill. No class.

Obviously I'm going to need some kind of equipment for this, so I'm wondering if any of you guys would know of or how to get said equipment. That's pretty much all I need to know.

General / Re: Will Kim Jong-Un destroy USA?
« on: April 20, 2013, 02:23 am »
Um, no.The united nations would be involved.
One might think. However, good 'ol Mr. Un was one of those know, the ones who might think. So he sent an inside man as an secret ambassador for some country...United State or something...I don't remember. Anyway, his secret agent will mess everything up within the UN and they'll be so preoccupied they won't even miss fondue until its too late. Believe me.

General / Re: Will Kim Jong-Un destroy USA?
« on: April 20, 2013, 02:12 am »
Yes. Not only the USA, he himself will single-handedly overthrow each and every government on the face of North America. But oh boy, he's not stopping there. He will then release a series of embarrassing and derogatory pictures aimed at the government of Uruguay for no reason at all, then play some online poker with its top leaders. Furthermore he will tame a wild moose and name it Shelly, then swim across the Suez Canal with it. Then in the final stage of his vile scheme he will ban all forms of fondue and beef jerky in the area he controls, which by this point will only be Belize, San Salvador, and the Yukon Territory of Canada. Quake in your boots as opposition to him is futile. Quake, I say!

How could that be taken from such a distance? Did they launch a satellite a few years ago or something?
You have much to learn.

General / Re: Is Anyone Else a Fan of the Mother Series?
« on: March 24, 2013, 08:45 pm »
Yeah, I'd love to get it but I can't play it on anything ( live in Britain ) but I think it's awesome looking.
Hey man, I've never owned a SNES or NES in my life. I play these on emulators. They're in some ways better than playing it on a console in my opinion.

That good, huh?

I've played Earthbound Zero, and that was...different. But I just beat Earthbound, and I really consider it to be the greatest video game I've ever played. I've downloaded Mother 3 to play next. Any opinions on that?
