General / Making a TV show this year for public TV and youtube
« on: October 20, 2012, 05:34 am »
Professional camera and everything... Going to be shooting at a big forest just outside Town.

I need to write a script before Spring, and I don't know where to begin. My original idea was for it to focus on a group of survivors in the wake of a virus outbreak, but it seems a bit cliche and I don't see there being much to do with the plot.

My other idea was to make a Slenderman oriented one, maybe about some teens on a camping trip (NEVER been done before ;p ) and their whole encounter with Slender. It'd be pretty cheap too, because you could film it in found-footage style.

Anyway, just wanted to share this.

I wanted her to win candidacy, not Barack Obama, but he beat her.

I was going to ask you in a private message, but you blocked me.

Not to bash Call of Duty or anything, but in comparison, Team Fortress 2 is so much more fun and strategic.

It's a shooter, and it is divided up into 9 classes, all of which serve a different role. There's basically something for everybody in this game, except for Assault Rifles, but only because they usually kill way too quickly.

The game has lots of slow moving projectiles and you can beat an opponent by dodging their fire. Very fun. There are loads of maps, and even more custom maps and mods.

Please try it ;_;

Archived Reviewer Applications / Reviewer Application: NOIS Legacy
« on: October 09, 2012, 12:09 am »
INTRODUCTION
NOIS Legacy is a game made by a user of the same name, noislegacy. I was originally drawn to it due to my own affinity for physics platformers, as well as the fact that a good physics game is an uncommon sight nowadays.

OVERVIEW

NOIS Legacy is a claustrophobic physics game, with a huge emphasis on perfecting jumps and timing. It is  simply designed, sporting nothing more than a simple framework and catchy music.
What this game lacks in art style and visuals, however, it makes up for in unique gameplay that is rarely seen in the physics genre. Its primary focus is on timing and perfecting difficult jumps, all of which need be landed perfectly to progress.
To add to this difficulty, the platforms that you must reach  are often covered by pillars. You can’t collide with them, but they do an amazing job of making it hard to see where you’re going. This makes it quite a task to pinpoint the  location of a ledge.
You will frequently find yourself missing a jump, and having to restart the entire process over again. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be very annoying.
However, this excitement comes to a sudden halt come level 3. This is where I believe this game took a terrible turn for the worse. Under no circumstances is making a level where it is impossible to see where you are going a good idea. Factoring in that this is a puzzle game all about accuracy, I think that this level is a complete step in the wrong direction. I found this level to quite possibly be gamebreaking. It thoroughly detracts from what the entire game is supposed to be about.

CONCLUSION

To wrap up, I must state that NOIS Legacy is quite possibly one of the most addicting games that I’ve ever played on Sploder, and I thoroughly recommend it to anybody who is a fan of puzzles and physics games. Be prepared to struggle through ridiculous segments, that make me question whether or not the creator understands what is fun to play and what isn’t.

I apologize for the strange formatting and indentation, I typed this up on a processor and copied it over.

For this one, brief moment in history, forget about everything that I have ever said or done to you.

A girl at my school was the victim of horrible bullying attacks, complete verbal abuse on Facebook.

I normally just say 'haha ethnic girls fighting' but this time, after experiencing some bullying myself, I decided that I was going to stand up for what I knew was the right thing to do.

All I ask is that you PLEASE follow this tumblr page. it will mean the world to me if these little bastards get what they deserve.

PLEASE HELP GUYS!!!

What weapon do you use?

I used the Plasma Cutter, but at the start of Chapter 5 (still on the first game) I purchased the Ripper, and I have to say, it's REALLY amazing.

« on: September 26, 2012, 09:18 pm »
I was a Fencer for a few years, but then I stopped for around a year, and I'm starting up again.

Anybody here ever done it? Tommy took lessons before.

I've got 3 gold medals, 6 silver, and 3 bronze.

Probably not very many people here do it, but just thought it worth asking, because ya never know.

Life is short. Why should an animal be born in captivity, kept in captivity, then killed in a brutal way, so humans can 'get their nutrition.'

You don't need meat to get sufficient nutrition, at all. There are many other types of protein that you can get that do not end a life.

I think that long ago, when you couldn't just have a bean farm in your backyard, hunting made sense and was ok. Animals weren't constantly dying.

However, I think that now, in this day and age, where we eat food shipped from the other side of the planet, and know all about what foods we need to eat, eating meat is completely unnecessary and wasteful.

I mean, I like hamburgers. I don't deny that. My sister is also a farmer, and she raises lambs and kills them.

But there's a difference between privately owned farms, who let the animals actually enjoy their lives, in big areas, and splodeing thousands of cows with no space to move, being fed corn to make them fat (even though they are supposed to eat grass) and then being ground up and fed to us.

Starting in a few days I'm going to eat no meat except meat that comes from farms that are free-roam, where the animals have good lives.

General / Reduce, reuse, and recycle old threads!
« on: September 15, 2012, 03:40 pm »
We live in a time where thread overpopulation has become a problem. Rather than constantly bring new threads into the world, why not give abandoned and neglected ones a chance?

Find threads that you made, that got no replies. Go back, edit them to your liking, and bump them. Your old, dying thread has just been given a second chance, one that they deserve.
