General / Do you like scary movies?
« on: May 25, 2013, 03:22 am »
What's your favorite? I'm quite partial to the Halloween franchise, myself.
Oh, and let's keep this thread spoiler free for those of us who haven't seen the movies in question.

General / There's going to be some changes
« on: March 31, 2013, 11:01 am »
It's been decided higher up that I am now the unquestioned emperor of this forum. Even his former mightiness Geoff himself did stand aside so that I might rule.
From now the rule of this forum is worship me or be punished. All dissenters will quickly get acquainted with PoW.
Now kneel.

Lieutenant League (Prank) / Kneel Before Me!

You are all worms beneath me feet. I spit in your general direction. None can compare to me. (Save for one of you. You know who you are ;))

General / I step aside for awhile and all this happens...
« on: February 20, 2013, 02:27 am »
The forum undergoes a complete renovation, a bunch of people get promoted to Lieutenant and General and I had a hand in none of it. I feel personally insulted that I didn't chance to sarcastically vote against liam's and truthikinz's promotions. Seriously, I hate not having my voice heard in things. I am this *holds thumb and index finger a quarter of an inch apart* close to becoming inactive again just so I can vote "no" to stuff again and feel like a boss.

General / Chicken on a Raft
« on: February 13, 2013, 07:45 pm »
I've returned from a long, harrowing journey having learned many new things. I've learned the true power of kittens. I've learned of the terrifying potential of the cello. Most importantly, I've learned of what happens when you place a chicken on a raft.

How long can you stay on the raft?

--Live Long and Prosper--

Please and thank you. Me love you long time.

~Survivor 2013~

Welcome, one and all, to the challenge of a lifetime. This game will test your cunning, your skills of deception, and just how ruthless you can be. If you've seen the T.V. version of this little game then you know how this works. You will be stranded on a desert island with a number of your peers. Last man or woman standing wins. I will go into greater detail once I have brought a full compliment of contestants to my little island. I need 24 contestants. First come first serve. Don't enter unless you are sure that you are going to be active enough.

General / So just to be clear, spell's gameshow is not going on?
« on: December 29, 2012, 02:54 pm »
And there are no others to stand in my way?

General / Hola, sploderians!
« on: December 20, 2012, 04:16 pm »
You may or may not have noticed that I've been less than active lately. In my many escapades I actually stumbled upon a cure for sploder addiction: A social life! You know, being with actually people, doing actual things, perhaps spending time with a member of the opposite gender doing foolish things just to make them happy (I look pretty darn good with sparkly blue fingernails), etc, etc. Lucky for you guys, I came back home to [Location censored]. Back here, I have no social life. I just have family and they get boring awfully quick. That means I have to turn to you guys for entertainment. Thus, for the next few weeks I'm all yours. After that I can make no promises. I certainly don't want to go completely inactive, though.

Anyway, while I'm here I will getting back to my usual duties: Editor recruitment, updating the EGD Challenge thread, managing our strategic supply of big words (Transubstantiation!), and of course making sure people follow the rules and punishing those who don't in the most humiliating ways I can think of. Yay.

Private Messages / Project Creation / Better Safe than Sorry
« on: December 06, 2012, 11:49 am »
The following is an email I received last night from an apparently reliable source about a rather destructive virus. Better safe than sorry, yes? So here you go...

"Better to be safe than sorry............
Dave's brother is a very advanced programmer who does computer work for a living and has a high up status with Microsoft.

He doesn't send these if they aren't real. If He says this is for real, it for sure is. Be aware.
Hi All,

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!
I checked Snopes, and it is for real. Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.
You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachmententitled POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK, regardless of who sent it to you.
It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer.
This virus will be received from someone who has your e -mail address in his/her contact list.
This is the reason you need to send this e -mail to all your contacts. It i s better to receive this
message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.
If you receive an email entitled"POSTCARD," even though it was sent to you by a friend, do not open it!
Shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus a nnounced by CNN.
It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.
This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of Virus.
This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept."

Thus concludes the email I received. I have my own qualms with this warning. I actually got the email after it had been forwarded a number of times. The original sender of the warning is a complete stranger to me so I don't know if I can trust him. I don't even know who this "Dave" is. Still, though, better off safe than sorry. I don't know that I completely believe this warning but I will be cautious for awhile when going through my emails.

Deal with it.

Now that this is settled we need not start any arguments about this topic, right? Right.

By the way, I call dibs on that rockin' horn in the back of his bag. I don't know about you but that's what I was hoping for this year.

To a Mr. Lordeldar, you are wanted in The Barracks. Lordeldar to the barracks.

That is all.

Oh, and we promise that, unlike last time, you will be a soldier for longer than a week.

They are oblivious to the true enemy. LWE™ allies itself with the strongest group, and the strongest group is neither. Strength is found in shadows and secrecy, not in blatant boastfulness or in making empty threats toward your opponent.

Watch out Beta and Alpha: The end of the war fast approaches and neither of you can stand against a foe with true strength, especially when that foe has the full support and aid of Lone Wolf Enterprises™!

The Bin & Board Archives / Once again, it is time to fess up.
« on: November 16, 2012, 11:26 am »
First of all, I'd just like to say to our newer and remind the rest of you that alternative accounts are not allowed on the forum. On the forum you get one and only one account. (Unless you have special permission from a Moderator.)

That being said it is that time again where we ask you all to fess up to any unapproved alts you may have. Admit them to us now and no punishment will come your way. If after this we catch you with an alt then you will not be so lucky.

I keep seeing threads that I didn't make with my avatar beside them and it always confuses me. I don't mean to discourage people from using my avatar, though, so don't feel bad if you have it.

The Bunker / Obeliskos, trioaero, & cferguson22gamer for soldier?
« on: November 07, 2012, 11:35 am »
Remember, activity is irrelevant therefore I need not wait for these guys to become active again in order to suggest them. Thus, let's promote them. Yes?

General / Why, yes, I am making a game. How kind of you to ask.
« on: November 04, 2012, 02:35 pm »
You may not have asked with your mouth (or rather fingers, in this case) but I could tell that you were asking with your eyes.

What is this game, you ask? (You asked this with your ears) Good question. I will say that it is a bit of a throw back. I'm taking an old concept and taking it to the next level. This game may not be up to my usual standards as I am battling lag all the way through, but I am close to swallowing my pride and using a different computer to make it.

When will it be released? (Awkward as it may be, you asked this with your pelvis) I don't know. It could be only a matter of a few hours. It could be a matter of weeks. It depends on when I feel like doing work on it and when I have the time to do work on it.

 :o 8) ::) :P

Can you guess what I did?

General / Forum HoF Suggestion Thread
« on: October 27, 2012, 05:01 pm »
It's that time again. Time to once more let your voice be heard and suggest who you think should go into the Forum HoF. Same rules as last time: You can suggest only one person and one person only. Do not suggest anybody that has already been suggested. Don not suggest anybody who has already been inducted. Do NOT suggest yourself.

Current Suggestions

Charismatic (6an6sta6rillz)

In a rather unusual task. Preferably, I'd like one person who is a MSM and one who is not. I'd expect that you'd want a reward for your troubles, but is not being parlay to my shenanigans award enough in itself? If it is not then I suppose that I'll have something else prepared for you.

Vote wisely.

General / I've been up to more weirdness
« on: October 22, 2012, 02:52 pm »
I wanted to give the two test groups a purpose so I gave them each their own board. This may have no purpose at all. It could even be blatantly stupid, but I don't care. I thought it would be a fun distraction for a day or two. Make of it what you will. I'll see if I can't foster some sort of impromptu competition.

I've never enjoyed being a Moderator more than I have today. There's so much I can do. I can really get creative with the stuff that has been made available to me.

General / I'm about to try something different
« on: October 20, 2012, 03:39 pm »
So if you see anything a bit... unusual in a few minutes then just know that is me experimenting. Suffice it to say, there are a number of features of this forum that we've yet to fully utilize.

The Bin & Board Archives / Epic Game Library [NEW SYSTEM]
« on: October 17, 2012, 11:18 am »
(V. 3.0)

This system is going to be the same as the old one save for one glaring difference. We will still suggest games and vote on them. (Please include a link to the games you suggest, if you don't mind.) A no vote will still cancel out a yes vote. A game will still need 5 yes votes to be added to the library. The main difference to this system will be that we will vote on each game in a separate thread, as opposed to voting on them all in one thread.

If a game has failed to receive the necessary number of votes to be added to the EGL then it CAN NOT be suggested again UNLESS significant changes have been made to it. (E.G. Addition of extra level(s) in a plat, 3D, or PPG, or a large addition to a shooter.)

IMPORTANT: Do not suggest or vote on a game unless you have played through the bulk of it. Before voting or suggesting a game you should play it through as thoroughly as possible so you can make an informed decision. Also, when you are suggesting a game or voting on it you MUST give at least 1 good reason to back up your opinion. Even if you are voting no you still must give a reason for it. Failure to give reasons will render your vote/suggestion null & void.

Lastly, users can no longer suggest their own games. If your game truly is worthy of EGL consideration than somebody else will suggest it so don't worry.

2: Be a large amount of fun to play, with extremely unique sequences that you would never expect done with items. A prime example is Game Raterz 1, 2, or 3 by Game Raterz, which all look amazing and have puzzles and action sequences that have never been done before."

*Being revolutionary will no longer be a requirement for games to be added to the EGL. At this point revolutionary games are very far and either fewer between so it can't rightly be used as a requirement, anymore. That having been said, being revolutionary should still greatly help a game's case. To reiterate: GAMES NO LONGER NEED TO BE REVOLUTIONARY.

General / Are you right-handed or left-handed?

I know I've asked this before but now that I can make a poll to go with it we can actually see the results.

Game Hyping / What Gamer's Plaza is for
« on: October 08, 2012, 08:48 pm »
This board is not so much for sharing your own games as it discussing the finer details of game making. Brainstorm here with people about new and revolutionary concepts and tricks for upcoming games. Also discussed here are the best strategies for all your favorite games so if there is one game that you just can not beat then you will probably be able to find its solution here eventually or you can just ask about it yourself.

This is a board that is truly only limited by the bounds of everybody's creativity, so keep brainstorming so this board may thrive for a long time.

This has been suggested in the LL and I thought it best to get the opinions of all involved before doing anything. Don't worry, this board would still only be visible to the soldiers+.
