General / So little to do, and so much time to do it.
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:11 am »
I just got off a twelve-hour flight to Frankfurt about an hour ago. I have to wait about three more hours until the next flight, and the next flight itself will take about five to six hours. Unfortunately, I've exhausted pretty much every interesting-looking movie in Lufthansa's not-so-extensive library of movies in their entertainment system during the twelve-hour flight, so I'll be bracing for a bit of cabin fever on the next flight.

Oh, and if that's not bad enough, where I'm going, it's about eleven and a half hours' difference in terms of time zones (so pretty much the opposite side of the world from where I live), so the jet lag is about as intense as it gets.

General / How many of you want me to step down?
« on: March 27, 2013, 01:41 am »
Yeah, I've been rather lazy recently. I've got lots of other things on my plate IRL (you know, high school problems), so I'm mainly focused on school stuff, and as such, I'm rather slow at keeping up with the responsibility that's required of me on the forums. Other than patrolling the general category every once in a while to make sure nothing is too out of the ordinary and making a couple of posts in the LL every now and then, I've pretty much completely neglected my duties. Spell pretty much hit the nail on the head in his fused thread (although he does exaggerate a little about the prank thing).

I'm going to put up a poll so that you guys can remain anonymous if you want to. Not that I'd lash out at any of you for stating your honest opinion (provided that you're being reasonably civil), though. If it's clear that the majority of you think yes, then I'll have myself demoted to the War Veteran rank, and perhaps reclaim the General rank in the future, when I have more time to devote to moderation.

Lieutenant League (Prank) / Disallowing the use of caps lock
« on: March 24, 2013, 10:35 am »
I believe that it is in the best interest of our leader to disallow the use of caps lock in a phrase or sentence. Because our leader promotes civility and respect, and typing wholly in capitals is disrespectful, uncivil and can be considered as shouting, it is in our leader's interest to issue a punishment to such people. I cannot think of a punishment that would befitting this, but perhaps our leader can.

Some images in the forum seem far too large, and can lag peoples' pages. I don't think that this is appropriate for a forum run by our leader, superluigi77. I'm not exactly sure on a specific pixel dimension limit, however. Perhaps our bright and intelligent leader can come up with an optimal pixel dimension size limit.

Number two, it would seem to be common sense to ban, and immediately delete, all images that explicitly or implicitly, through means of satire or informative fact, ridicule, criticize or otherwise show dissatisfaction or opposition to our leader, a humble servant of our leader, or the way our leader wishes to run things. Posting such malicious propaganda would be punished with a hefty punishment in PoW/JDC or a ban for any users who posted and/or made and/or collaborated on and/or showed any support for the image. We don't want any more whiny forum members to stir up a rebellious faction of sorts against our leader.

Number three. As our leader most certainly wishes to win the minds and hearts of the forum members, I believe that it would be beneficial for him if we start an 'image campaign' and have various posters strategically placed around the forums, showing support for our leader. Anyone that criticizes, ridicules or otherwise shows opposition to these posters or our putting up these posters would face being POWed, JDCed or banned. In addition, anyone showing any support to any opposition towards these posters would also face being POWed, JDCed or banned.

I personally think that these rules are reasonable enough, but only our leader is truly fit to decide, so I will wait for hid approval.

...Make for pretty horrible throwing knives. I have to bend them back into shape every couple of throws.

On the plus side, they're quite cheap, and make a fair improvisation for throwing knives.

Xploder seems to have matured a bit compared to the past. He actually tried to quell the little 'conflict' going on in General. That, or he's trying to suck up, but I somewhat doubt that it's the latter.

Is it worth giving him any consideration in promoting him to Soldier? If not now, perhaps in the near future, if he shows consistent behavior? Discuss.

I've restarted this game. Post for a 1% chance of getting a forum award. No double posting, but other than that, you can post as many times as you like.

If you win, you earn a 'sapphire' award. The number on the award lists how many sapphires you have won, or how many times you have won in this game. For those of you who like to no-life this game, for every ten sapphires you win, it becomes one diamond.

Currently, the 'Post Your Heart Out' bonus is active! This means that the double-posting is relaxed, and you are now allowed to triple-post (but no more than that!), and each individual post will still have a 1% chance of being a winning post!

List of past/present bonuses:
Grand Opening Bonus: 2/22/13 - 2/23/13
•A 2% chance to win instead of a 1% chance
Post Your Heart Out Bonus: 3/3/13 - Present
   •Allowed to triple-post

List of Winners:
If won while a bonus was active, it will be listed. Additionally, if the bonus helped the winner to win the forum award, the winner's name will be in bold.
