Title: Editor Recruitment
Post by: seanthechinaman on February 09, 2019, 10:23 pm
Becoming a Reviewer is a prerequisite to applying for Editor, so here is a link to the Reviewer Lane (http://forums.sploder.com/index.php/board,246.0.html) where you can apply for Reviewer. Please note that you only need to be accepted as a Reviewer to apply, the Mainsite badge is not a requirement.

- To apply for Editor you must publish 2 REVIEWS
1 REVIEW on a game you feel is feature worthy, analyzing WHY you feel this way
1 REVIEW on a game you feel is NOT feature worthy, analyzing WHY you feel this way
(in both cases the game can be featured or unfeatured)

If you have been accepted as a Reviewer but have not yet been assigned the Mainsite badge, simply submit your reviews through the forums, preferably in the Reviewer Lane (http://forums.sploder.com/index.php/board,246.0.html)

Submit the links to your finished reviews in this thread.
Please note that deeper analysis is expected in all Editor applications, these SHOULD NOT be normal reviews

- Recruiters [ 6 / 6 ]

  Seanthechinaman
  Futuremillionare
  Lordeldar
  Jmc10
  Cyangaming
  Mat7772

Once you have applied, your application will be judged by the above Recruiters. If 70% vote Yes you will be ACCEPTED and subsequently added to the TODO List (http://forums.sploder.com/index.php/topic,136963.0.html)

- Reviewer Lane Rules (http://forums.sploder.com/index.php/topic,342277.0.html) APPLY HERE, although it must be stated that the re-application waiting period here is doubled

Still pretty upset that I had to do all that stuff with no pay off. :8-/

But I’m happy with all the fixes actually. 80% was too high, which is a point I had that I didn’t outline, but I’m glad it was fixed up. No crazy over the top tests. No absurd time limits. I also like the specification on what is needed to do.

Am I allowed to re-apply here? Or must I wait?

I’ll have To admit I’ve never seen this type of recruitment before and I’m gonna be honest, it’s a wonderful take.

Denied

You should spend some of that thumbnail coverage discussing gameplay elements more integral to a feature, deep and well informed analysis is more important than the usual pillars of reviewing in Editor Applications. Aside from your application, the general consensus is that you don't have enough experience for the role, especially considering your past in positions of power.

You do however demonstrate understanding of some of the core elements of feature worthy games, and thus I wish you the best of luck in your next application.

(you may re-apply in 2 WEEKS)

I have enough experience, what I think you mean is that my level of trust hasn't gotten back up to a good enough number yet. Therefore I'll probably wait until I have my mod badge and a little bit longer to give myself more credibility. By then I'll probably have more features and whatnot too.

That voting was fast by the way. :P

"Experience" works as well. Your experience was essentially wiped after you were banned and created a new account.

As well as achieving more features, you should try to achieve some in different creators, understanding the feature standards of multiple creators will greatly increase your chances of passing.

I have to admit, I partially disagree; I still know the standards of a feature worthy game and how things work. That's like me saying that you're new because you created your account "Seanthechinaman" a month ago.

I would agree with going out of my comfort zone and getting features with other creators, but if I were to be an editor I probably wouldn't really feature games of other types. Maybe I will go for Arcade next.

It's more a matter of responsibility and trust than to do with your understanding of feature worthy games.

You're definitely on the right path, your genuine passion and influence over mainsite activity has already lifted the Recruiters' spirits around you.

Awesome, I'll probably reapply within the coming weeks. I want to finish my Arcade game (in attempt to get a feature with that creator) first. :D

You can't apply with old reviews. Re-read the thread, and the Reviewer Lane Ruleset.

Damn, I thought it could work. Does it necessarily matter if its old or not? Have you at least read the reviews?

I just told you that it matters. Your reviews don't even meet the criteria of ' one review about a game that ISN'T feature worthy ' and ' one review about a game that IS feature worthy '

So what if I put that there right now? And I know but at least read them man. They might've been some time ago but they were still written with effort.

Why should I read them if they're invalid as Editor Applications?

Fair enough. I guess I'll write reviews when I'm able to log back into the mainsite because of the password thing. Unless you give me any other options, it's up to you. I was hoping you would read them though because you probably would've liked them but oh well.

You can post your application reviews in the Reviewer Lane, that's literally listed in the body of this thread. I feel as if you're not putting much effort into this.

So these same reviews over there? I'll do that. And no, sorry if I'm coming off as such, but I'm trying trust me. I haven't been able to log into the mainsite because of the password thing and I'm still waiting for Goeff's reply, so these are all I have and it's the perfect opportunity.

No. Your reviews have to analyse whether a game is feature worthy or not IN FULL, you can't just add two splodeing lines to the top of a pre-cooked review. I've made it very clear that applications have to be written from the ground up.

Can I pick out an already featured game and say whether it's featured worthy or not?

Also Is it acceptable if I pick a game and I don't think it should be featured even though it is featured?
