Title: Invaders on Steroids - My first Physics Puzzle Game!
Post by: AllenHawk on November 23, 2012, 03:40 pm
This is the first game that I created with the Physics Puzzle Maker. It's a rather complicated game creator, so it took me a little while to create this. The gameplay is reminiscent to Space Invaders, but it has a few twists to it that makes it stand out a bit.

Opinions? This is my first Physics title, and I aspire to get better at making these kinds of games, so constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Unoriginal concept.  Boring graphics.

Also you can just sit there and shoot them as they spawn.

Along with what troyio said, ever level is pretty much the same thing... you should learn to change it up an make it challenging.

You could have the spawner move, have obstacle blocks you can't shoot through, or you can have multiple spawners shooting at once. It's a really nice game, just encourage movement a little more.

The gameplay is similar to Space Invaders, so the gameplay obviously isn't going to be very original. I'm just trying to get used to the PPG. By the way, the graphics look fine to me. How should I improve them?

Anyways, thanks for your recommendations, guys. The game has now been updated. Based on the current feedback I have received, I have increased the difficulty of the rather simple game, encouraged more movement, and cut down on spamming your weapon. The game should now be more enjoyable than it was before.

What I meant by boring graphics was it didn't appeal using the paint tool and now incorporated graphics.  Like you could've made a space ship graphic or you know.  But yeah, getting used to the PPG is difficult.  Just keep listening to people and learning and you'll be fine.

Btw the updated version is a lot better.

Thanks for clarifying that. I'll keep that in mind for future PPG titles I create. I'm not very good with making my own graphics though. Lol
