The final boss in Borderlands: Pre Sequel is pretty easy if you refuse to do sidequests or grind (making you really underleveled for the entire playthrough, to the point where enemies with DOT can oneshot you sometimes).

His attacks are really easy to avoid with a speed+air control Oz kit.

Tried playing a bit of Megaman X a few days ago. Will say that bits have aged super poorly. The zoomed in screen coupled with enemies that respawn the moment their placement goes off screen makes it a massive chore to play.

Also, the art looks really good with a CRT shader.

Why?
Japanese is a fundamentally different language from English in its grammar, vocabulary, and (in some cases) its basic structure.

In the case of Adobe Flash -> pretty much anything else, it's pretty similar. Flash has its own scripting language, and a radically different workflow from pretty much any other development environment. It's doable to make something roughly similar, but it's incredibly time consuming to do. Given that Geoff already has a career, family, and health problems to juggle; it's a tall order for him to make such a port.

Seems like a weird strawman version of Brook's Law, and the effect of that is really dependent on the structure your project and management use.

Back on topic...

Frankly I would focus on trying to sort out archival/downloads of existing games at the moment. The platformer is already open source, though I'm not sure how difficult it would be to get it loading up levels through an Adobe Air application based off of it. Not sure about the other creators.

Personally, I'd develop creators/players in Unity. It has really good multiplatform support, and it already covers low level features such as rendering and sound fairly effectively. This means that once a basic skeleton is made, development can be compartmentalized between developing assets for use in games (made easy via Unity's prefab system).

Yeah, that's another aim I'm working to do. I always replay my whole game before deciding if there are enough lives or not.

In Sonic Boom Rol, I now know I was kinda cheap with it... As I expected of players to explore in order to get extra lives.
Always play through your games in suboptimal ways when tuning difficulty. You can't expect players to know what to do, and sometimes they do stupid things.

When making Grandquest: Darkest Hour, for example, I played through each level from sword start and ignored optional content when trying to figure out where to route health and lives. I did something similar when making Unl3ashed: The Movie: The Game (minimal usage of special attacks like missiles and absolutely no usage of mortars) since I couldn't expect players to know or want to perform the optimal methods for ending each encounter.

He never outright admitted he was an alt. But he kept doing bizarre stuff, and his number spam pushed us over the edge.

Just kidding, I have an algorithms project to work on over the break X_X. However I may have been slowly cooking up an overhaul mod to a little known indy game called Good Robot for larks (pm me if you have the game and want to playtest the mod, it's about 70% complete).

Either way, post about games and stuff.
