I joined this site when I was like 10 years old or so. I totally get the cringy old posts feeling.

Just take it in stride and laugh at yourself, it's more fun to look at it that way.

how you typed 'like' instead of 'life'

Like is like a box of chocolates, you look in the inner lid of the container so you know exactly what you're getting.

that merge button looks neat
You can combine threads together with it.

It's pretty situational, but nice to have.

Why do people say "stickied"? It's called "pinned".

On vanilla it was called sticky
It was actually called 'Fused' for most of vanilla's life.

Aren't you angry that this thread is late? Vent about that and whatever else here.

I get that feeling.

College takes its toll on my free time, in addition to other stuff.

Also, really interesting thread you got here. Hope that you find a hidden gem at some point.

It's friday my dudes. Discuss like games and stuffs.

Far Cry 3 > Far Cry 4 from what I've played so far. It just had more engaging writing (and the gameplay is basically the same in both). On the flip side, Far Cry 4 is gorgeous.

Also, the PC port of Forza Horizon 3 is horrendous. Microsoft ples fix.

Back in my day it was called Vimperator.

I finished reading Intellectuals and Society a little while back. It starts off fairly strong with a decent argument and compelling examples, but it just sorta devolves into partisan hackery as it goes further and further on.

the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.
Top tier taste.

Shame that it sorta loses its momentum around the 4th book (the 5th is a bit better, but meh).
If you like the series, check out Terry Pratchet's work. It's more fantasy tinged, but it's also got a solid base of humor.

Has anyone read Hillbilly Elegy?
Haven't heard of it. What's it about?

Share/discuss videos and shows ranging from the most recent episodes of whatever (I recommend The Grand Tour; its sorta like Top Gear except it still has Jeremy Clarkson) to 7 second bits of nonsense.

Links containing explicit language must contain a warning.

apparently windows 10 can restart on its own and apply updates

Windows 10 is really pushy with the updates.

Also this should be automated by a bot
Feel free to make one.

I used rainmeter for a while, but I pretty much always end up moving to having practically nothing on my desktop for whatever reason.

Ravi I don't know what you want to do with this, so I'll leave that up to you.
The plan was to leave each thread stickied for 2 days then move to the next topic since the forums are a bit slow.

I played Shovel Knight for the first time a few weeks back and I can't get this song out of my head. So good!

High Above The Clouds - The Flying Machine

EDIT: listening to the other songs I feel reaally off topic lol
Not bad, but I still think that strike the earth is the best track in Shovel Knight.

I'm struggling to find decent new music atm tbh. I keep just going back to the same old stuff
What sort of music do you like?

Post or discuss music of high (or low) quality here.

Links containing explicit lyrics must contain a warning.

Starting off the thread with some black midi; a genre named after the appearance of its sheet music:
Scub Domino - Flight of the Bamboo Cutter (black midi remix)
MusiMasta - Unity (black midi remix)
TheSuperMarioBros2 - Pi

Previous thread

Sun- Wild Card: Whatever the second post in the thread says.
Mon- Music
Tuesday- Technology
Wednesday- Literature
Thursday- TV & Videos
Friday- Vidya
Saturday- Inner Rage

Look good?

Going to start the rotation tomorrow.

Battlefront 1 and 2 are better on pc doe. They have mods, and BF2 has working online play.

General / Re: what are some classic ps2 games

Timesplitters: Future Perfect

Shadow of the Colossus (but play the ps3 remaster, not the ps2 version. Framerate is almost unplayable on ps2).

Ace Combat 4, 5, and Zero

Mercenaries (play the 1st one, ignore the 2nd one)

The nub barracks are archived, and the thread has been moved.

Ender's Game is a decent enough and fairly accessible read. Has enough depth to revisit once in a while.

General / Re: Anyone got any good book suggestions?

What sort of books do you enjoy?

Fiction, or Non-fiction?

Any specific subject matter or genre?

Wait what there was a season 2?? Shoot I am super behind on the anime
Yeah, it's been out for a while.

It's had way less of a marketing push though.

« on: January 11, 2018, 05:38 PM »

The same could be said for every other topic on your list so far lol, nothing wrong with having an official staff thread for a topic to increase awareness.
No really, we don't currently (or no longer) have specialized boards for the topics in the list. Mostly because said boards tend to be really slow.
