people get offended because other people told them they should be offended. if you don't label them as offensive people can't get offended by them
Im pretty sure no one says "you should be offended" but ok

i can understand that, just gotta hit it at the right time and in the right channel. id say the whole interface is easier to use than sploder and there's more conversation going on usually

I guess. And yeah - I love Discord. I use it regularly. It's got a great and intuitive interface, but I think the Sploder Discord server itself could be better set up. Even then, it's still hard to find the "first message" of a conversation unlike the forums.

i don't actually remember this happening but this can also happen on the forums. you left because of one mixup and didn't even check what the server was all about!!! so you can't really make a comment on it

lol wut
i didn't mention swearing, the people in discord did
discord sucks in every way, and the forums are better in every way. In discord you post something, and after 3 seconds its lost to swearing people

the same stuff can be observed on the forums. one user shouldn't determine whether or not you use an entire platform, that's like not using youtube because you don't like one channel

But its not allowed on the forums. Thats actually like not putting money in one bank, bc you're allowed to rob it, but  instead putting money in a safer bank

i don't understand the analogy here nothing is being stolen by joining discord. if you join discord you aren't defecting from the forums you can be on both at the same time

I'm comparing the lack of rules
[1.] The abuse of bots is forbidden: Bot commands are to be used in the bot-commands channel. Use of bots outside of this channel should be infrequent, and abuse of any bot (bulk-commanding, attempting to crash it) is forbidden.

[ 2.] Spamming is forbidden: Posting the same thing consecutively, posting off-topic comments, posting irrelevant/gibberish comments, and anything similar is considered spam.

[ 3.] "Flaming" or otherwise harassing a user is forbidden: Flaming is insulting and generally being a jerk to other people with harmful intent and/or in a very scathing manner. You should be respectful of the race, gender, religion, interests, and space of all other users on Sploder. Note that debate, disagreements, and meaningful criticism of or with other members is never harassment.

[4.] NSFW/NSFL content is forbidden: Anything that displays, or depicts an inappropriately sexual, hyper-violent, or gory act is not allowed. If it's something you can only find on a website that prompts you to confirm you're over 18 before seeing the content, then it's off-limits.

[ 5.] Encouraging Rule Breaking is forbidden: If you encourage others to break the rules under any circumstances you will be punished as well.
[ 6.] Posting another user's private information and/or attempting to get information out of another user is forbidden: Tricking another  user into giving out information that should not be posted is not only against our rules, but illegal. Posting another user's information without their consent is textbook doxxing.

[ 7.] Impersonating Staff is Forbidden: It's an annoyance to the staff, impedes our duties, threatens server security, and can be confusing to other users.

[ 8.] Abuse of power(s) is forbidden: Abuse of powers is defined as infringing on any number of the following where it is most accurate: Ignoring the rules. Random usage of powers to pester or otherwise harass a user. Using powers to reduce the experience on the forums as a whole without a good reason. Making any major changes without first consulting other members of similar ranking. Using powers to monopolize management of the server. Ignoring results of things like votes and continuing without a good reason. Using power as a threat.

[9.] Moderators and Admins reserve the right to Moderate as They See Fit: This rule prevents people from utilizing loopholes in the rules to do anything that would be problematic. If a moderator's actions are brought into question then things will be thoroughly discussed and dealt with accordingly.

these are the rules of the discord. they seem very similar to that on the forums other than the fact the conversation is a little more liberal, which is a good thing
