Beth Thornton's "I Wish You Would". This is the only song that has came close to making me cry.

Some of these suggestions seem like half of you are like aliens that have never heard of this human emotion of sadness before

Ravens, though, jesus. I'd never heard that before, it just keeps getting darker.

Definitely The Antlers -Putting the Dog to Sleep

Shoot, I'll give this a gander. The Antlers "Hospice" was my go-to sad music before Sufjan Stevens dropped "Carrie & Lowell"

losing fight by movements, fever dream by movements, deadly dull by movements, defffffinitley deadly dull, it made me cry the first time i listened to it
she brings bruises and cuts to show and tell
but she never told
no one ever wondered
they all think they’re marks from her playing outside
making up her fantasy
wishing it was her reality 🌙 💫

I wasn't aware we didn't necessarily have a restriction of posting a single song. My bad. I'd say these songs are pretty emotional as well, since I feel I can relate to their lyrics.

I will admit I have had difficulty controlling myself listening to these. But eh, I still love them.

I still haven't given really good suggestions for this thread yet but this song is a classic and there's nothing else like it: https://youtu.be/ia4ZQc28mvU

Mount Eerie's "Ravens"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2R2Ck8qKWM

Hell of a song.

first thing I thought when i saw this thread was Mount Eerie's 'A Crow Looked At Me', the single most absolutely crushingly sad album ive ever heard by far. its the only album i struggle to handle with just how raw and emotional and devastating it is. its a beautiful album with its musical merit and all but wow its crushing, its just something that cant exist without the sheer pain phil elverum felt

Another couple i thought of (although of course nowhere near anything from a crow looked at me) are "I Want You To Know That I'm Awake/I Hope That You're Asleep" by Car Seat Headrest and "Five Years" by David Bowie

I cried to the prophets song on twin fantasy the other day

famous prophets (minds)

the prophets song is a queen song and it isnt sad at all......

i strongly strongly STRONGLY agree with both Famous Prophets (Minds) and Famous Prophets (Stars) though
I hate little white punks who mess with me, kids like proxy obliterate the forums.
