Who remembers when demo discs were a thing?
« on: January 08, 2019, 12:23 am »
When I was a kid, I had a PS1 demo disc that had a lot of games I ended up getting and the franchises that defined my childhood, as well as a lot of games that I never got the full game but looked extremely interesting. Demo discs are now kind of a lost art.

Nowadays, demo discs are called "preorder the game".

I played demo discs to death. I really wish I still had my ps1 demo disc. Got me into twisted metal.

I have a PS2 demo disc that Playstation Magazine gave away. It includes demos like Black, Driver: Parallel Lines and much more. In know that Pizza Hut gave away demo discs for PS1 and I happen to have played some before.

Late reply but I still have a PS1 demo disc somewhere in my game shelf. Had a very cool psychedelic cover on it and included Crash Bandicoot, Twisted Metal, and I think Jet Moto. I'll try to post a pic of it later.

I had a PS1 demo disc that featured Crash Bandicoot: Warped (or rather, a video trailer of it), Spyro the Dragon, and Gran Turismo. This ultimately got me into those franchises, which are some of my favorite franchises to this day.

Also on that disc included Tekken 3, Tombi, Kula World (and this game is splodeing weird), MediEvil, Treasures of the Deep, and Bust-a-Groove. Apparently only certain versions of the demo disc had Bust-a-Groove, so I guess I was lucky.

No Jet Moto but Tekken 2 was very fun.
