Anyway, I can't think of any way to make turn-based PvP to work without a random number generator (due to people cheating with the random number generator), so do you have any ideas? I don't want it to be regimented to something where you win or lose based on what units you use. =/

Well, it could depend on the number of units, what weapons they use, etc.
Also, some units could be weak/strong against other types of units. (A rock paper scissors type thing)

Also, you could include an upgrade system for unis.

All of those sound good. I was also thinking of an achievement/reward system where for doing different thing you would get different rewards.

Because if the players are the ones using it, they could lie and say something else. And it gets annoying when we have to be always online for PvP. :/

Add promotions to a stronger class at certain levels, and you have a successful fighting system. For magic, Light beats Darkness, Darkness beats Elements, and Elements beat Light.

Well, it'd be hard to with on a Forum because of grids, but you'll figure something out. Doesn't have to be a grid. Anyway.

Unit A moves to a square adjacent to Unit B

Unit A attacks Unit B with Iron Sword

Unit B has an Axe equipped, so Unit A does more damage, and I believe there's a larger chance for a critical hit, which does 4 times more damage last I checked.

The enemy turn rolls around, and B attacks A with Steel Lance.

The Steel Lance does more damage, and the Weapons Triangle states that it does even more damage. It also happens to be a critical hit. A dies.

Team A's turn again, and an archer shoots B. This can only happen if Unit C (the archer) is one space away. B cannot counterattack. B dies, because of the damage inflicted from A and C.

There, windy can take over, lol.

That can work too. Units can trade, and there can be a special unit that cannot attack that holds items. If he survives a battle, he levels up and gets stronger. A different unit probably has to guard him though. There are also shops for general Items, and shops for Weapons and promotion items. Like a Knight's Crest.
