Classic Shooter bug - stuck in black walls

I have now observed six instances of my ship being pushed into a black area (space or walls or whatever it represents in the imagination of the game creator).  In two of these instances, it was because a teleporter was set where a wall crossed it (perhaps teleporters could have the same warning in the game maker as when walls fall outside the boundaries of the level?).  In the other cases, my ship was blasted through a boundary by a launcher or a guard shooting a missile.

Once the ship gets inside the black space, the boundaries are reversed.  It reacts as if it could move freely in the black stuff but not in the normal level, and the level has to be reset.  It happens enough to be a minor nuisance but not more.  I also tend to have larger, more complex levels.

I'm on an iMac running OS 10.6.8 with a DSL modem; my browser is Safari 5.1.8.

It happens to everyone. Obviously a bug though. (At least, I would think it would be a bug... xD)

It's not a bug really. The outside boundaries are basically classed as an inverted malleable polygon. Because players have the ability to go inside of polygons, they can naturally move in the inverted one as well. The only glitch part is ai pathing. The ship is basically a circle, more than half of that circle has to be in an area for it to be considered there. The way around it is using spikes and travelling through them until more than half the ship is in the outside boundaries.
