[Community Vote #2]
« on: March 25, 2013, 11:34 pm »
I might be doing these once in a while, to get the opinion of the community majority. This could help improve this site. Voting does not guarantee a change. Community Vote #1 is at Private Messages, Lts, don't unfuse that yet because it could help

Vote #1 - Are promotions being looked on too seriously?
Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it?
Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how?
Opinion #3 - Rate the overall performance of the forums.

You do not have to supply a reason, though it would be helpful if you do. If you disagree with a member, do not argue. This thread is for voting, not for debating. There is no poll, vote by posting. Please give out your true opinion.

Every user who participates in voting gets a free thank.

Vote #1 - Are promotions being looked on too seriously? Yes

Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it? No

Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how? Very much so, the rules are far more lenient, you can whine about mods, friendships actually form here, ect. Rank-wise the structure is pretty similar (Normal member=private, Paid member=soldier, OP=Leut, Mod=General)

Opinion #3 - Rate the overall performance of the forums.
80/100 (people need to stop whining for the sake of whining and we need to work on bringing old fun back without looking through nostalgia goggles like we all (myself included) do.)

Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it? Bypassing in all fairness.

Vote 1# - Are promotions being looked on too seriously?: Probably.
Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it?: They aren't too strict. They are going forward in the right way and I have to say they could hardly be any better.
Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how?: This forum is better. The only thing that the other forum had more of was imagination, and the ranks didn't sound like robots in a huge war.
Opinion #3 - Rate the overall performance of the forums.: 94/100. That's a very good score. Like I said this could hardly be any better. You're doing fine as you are, nothing too bad but some people of high rank aren't that friendly... I won't go into that.

1. Yeah, I guess.

2. You could say that, depending on the rule.

3. Our forum is like a community, everyone knows everyone, and we can joke around. At least, that's the majority of us.

4. A rating...maybe about a 77/100

-Yes
-No
-I've been to other forums. What makes this one different is the smaller-than-average size of it and the ability to dispute with the mods without fear of being banned or whatever.
-I can't really give a fair rating (I'm terrible at ratings), but I love this forum and haven't left yet, so that's a good sign. I'll just say 8/10.

Vote 1: Only by the privates. We still vote for our friends so I don't see how that could be extremely serious.

Vote 2: Yes. And just because other forums have stricter rules doesn't mean this forum doesn't. You can't just pick the shinier of two turds, you know?

Vote 3: Better

Bypassing should be loosened up a little. I'm not saying that people should be allowed to bypass, but I think it's tight that simple hints like "fuuu-" should be considered bypassing. Once I even got flamed for using punctuation to mask the letters in a swearword. ($#!%) Yes, you may be able to identify which swear it may hint to, but it doesn't offend anybody and is only obvious for the people looking for it.

Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how? NO

The only fault of this forum is the general attidude and atmosphere that users are creating for themselves. If people stop rambling about bias and "the good ole days" we'll be in a much better place.

Just my opinion. :)

Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it? - No

Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how? - Yes, and this one is very different. Mostly because you normally get ranks through posting as opposed to voting and less arguing on others

Opinion #3 - Rate the overall performance of the forums. - 6/10 (As others have said, it's all whine whine whine)

Vote #1 - Are promotions being looked on too seriously? yup
Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it? eh, people are being banned too much for nothing
Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how? Yes, definitely. Other forums don't really control what people do as much and there are no ranks. Also, people don't really care if someone has alts because it doesn't really matter.
Opinion #3 - Rate the overall performance of the forums. This is the most active forum I've seen and is fun a lot of the time. 6.5/10

its kind of the rising leniency that makes us lose the fun that we want - imo deterrents have a limit and this is way overboard

3) its a lot different to other forums cause of what mrez said

4) 7/10

#1 They are being taken too seriously. Everyone is worried about them and people are going on strikes because they haven't been promoted. It's all they worry about really.

#2 I don't think they are. There are some younger kids on here and they don't need to learn bad language and other things kids shouldn't know until their parents have taught it to them. (I'm a kid, so, thats why I'm saying this)

#3 Can't answer this, I've never been on another forums

#4 This would be a 5-7/10 rating.

Vote #1 - Yes, the privates are mostly worried about them and have sparked several flame wars regarding promotions.

Opinion #1 - At this moment, yes.

Opinion #2 - Only side forums made by Sploder users. They aren't really different, mainly because the rules on that forum are basically the rules that this forum has. I've looked at Kongregate's forum, but I don't feel as comfortable there as I do here.

Opinion #3 - 7/10

1. Yes. Privates need to stop whining about them not getting a secret category and some soldiers+ need to stop thinking they're better because they are a higher rank.

2. Bypassing is a little too tight. That's not saying I want to go cussing everywhere, but it's hard to even joke around with those things anymore.

3. Yes, and there was just the normal member and admin ranks. They where actually having fun while admins handled their jobs. This is probably a stupid idea (cause im tired), but I always thought we could make new members privates for training and in like a month or something they became soldiers so they had the chance to learn. Don't hate on me if that's a stupid idea.

4. 56/100

Vote #1 - Are promotions being looked on too seriously?
No. It's a stupid social club. Soldiers dont even have power to do anything, And then generals aren't required to do squat. I feel like 95% of the time I'm on thees not a single admin on who is even mentally here(Although, Superluigi has been very helpful to me)

Opinion #1 - Are the forum's rules too strict? If so, what rule is it?
Cursing need to be less strict. just a little bit of wiggle room would be awesome. Also, I think alts/new accounts thing is stupid. Almost every game I play I restart with a new account every 6 months-1 year, And It bothers me how mods will go to such extreme enforcement for a stupid acount. They suspect an account? POW fpr a week until someone remembers to unban you, when a simple question could be asked.

Opinion #2 - Have you been on other forums? If so, compared to that forum, is this one different? If so, how?
Yes, Were they allow cursing and all members are mature as opposed to the 2% mature members on here. They actually have interesting and engaging discussion all the time and it feels much more relaxing.

Opinion #3 - Rate the overall performance of the forums.
60/100, Rediculous rules and administration, and immature members,Slow topics no matter how many people are on, but the few people I like are enough to keep me coming back.

Yes,  we need to be more lenient with minor infractions of minor rules.

This forum does what it is designed to do
