Cash's Application

What being a moderator means to me:
To me, being a mod isn't about the power. No, its about keeping a community safe and happy. For example: If there is a user who is posting hurtful comments, I'll be on their case. And if it ever becomes a big problem, I'll do the deed I have to do.
Being a moderator is a gift, a position you can have by Geoff's side, so that you can keep his sacred website happy. A moderator isn't fun and games, its like being a soldier in a war-fighting for our righteous website forever.

A mod isn't banning people on the spot. It's warning them about what they're doing and making sure they stuck to it. As for games, it's a very similar method:Tell the user that They are breaking the game rules of sploder, and that if they don't remove the game, I will have to take action.

Being a mod also means sticking to your place. Even if you feel bad for having to do what you have to do to a member, you know its worth keeping the community here secure. Even if my best friend here breaks a big rule, I won't hesitate to do my work. This is another reason why I hesitated to do this, but I would rather stop a bad member than watch him take over.

I also must use my powers wisely, not playing around and banning random users, and I won't block a game because I didn't like it or because it was hard, I shall take pride in my powers, and use the correctly, for everyone's sake. Showing all members I deserve my place, and I will do my special deeds as soon as possible.

Helping members out will be a big part of me being a mod. When a user asks me an important question, I will help them out as soon as possible. If a certain member is feeling very down in the dumps, I will make sure they can Stand back up again!

Moderators also have the ability to IP check. This allows us to see what other accounts a related to a certain user, and it helps us make sure a banned user hasn't come back to haunt sploder, as this would be more work, and it shows us if the user would have to be... Perma banned.

I will do everything I need to keep sploder the hearty place it is, even if it means taking big chances, I won't hesitate for a moment.
This is all I have to say, I hope it works for you guys!
thank you very much for reading, see you guys later! ~Cashin95

Hello once again, I'm Daydream. Here I am applying with my second application, hopefully this brings more luck.

What being a MSM means to you:

MSM has been my dream MS job, more wanted than Reviewer and Editor. I am always happy to help people, and I don't swing my ban hammer around like a child playing Whack-A-Mole.

Often I do see kids bullying each other on the MS, and I give them a little warning, like "Hey, what's the need to bully?" Right after I see these situations I wish I could have the powers to intervene and successfully calm a fight, because the 'offenders' don't listen to members who don't sport a MSM badge.

I don't want the rank of MSM because of the fancy powers, I want to give people the assistance they need and maintain Sploder's good reputation.

List of MSM powers and how I would use them:

First off, a mod has the power to end fights, stop bullies and hackers. Normal members may attempt to do so (like me), but it isn't really effective.

Warn- Before banning someone, most moderators may choose to give them a warning. A warning disables people to comment and send awards. I will warn people if they post an inappropriate game, bully someone, or send hateful comments on the MS. In other words, I will use the warn for first-time offenders who have done nothing too serious.

Ban- A ban doesn't allow the user to access Sploder. To me, the length of the ban depends on what the person/offender has done. E.g: if the person has received 3 warnings from me (or less, depending on the severity of the action) I will ban him/her depending on the action and the severity of the action.

Perma Ban- A Perma Ban is a permanent ban. I will use this when a person has gotten a ban from me 3 times (or less, depending on the severity of the event).

IP Ban- Same as a perma ban, except the banned user cannot make anymore Sploder accounts. I will use this if a member has made several accounts to go around the ban and make more trouble.

IP Check- Mods use this power to check one's IP address. To me, this is to be used when a member has done a questionable activity that seems similar to another member that has been banned. I will also randomly IP check other people to see if they share IPs with any banned accounts.

Deleting Messages- This power is used to delete any comments that are spamvertising, or any others that are hateful, or rude. Spam comments such as "jjjjjjjjjjjjjjj" are removed.

Game Restoration- Mods have the power to restore games that are accidentally deleted or purposely deleted (and the user wants that game back).

Hack Log- Mods have access to the Hack Log, a log that keeps track of hacked accounts. I will use this when a user has suddenly changed his/her behaviour (e.g.: nice yesterday, then rude and ignorant of the rules today).

Flagging Games To Geoff- If mods see an inappropriate game that many members have reported, moderators can flag the game so that Geoff can delete it. This power's description explains when I would use this power.

Final Note:

I promise I will make an excellent moderator, mainly because I am very friendly with people. I don't fail to impress, and I will do my very best to fulfill my duties as a Main Site Moderator!

Thanks for reading!

~Daydream

Nobody's going to vote for you if you're banned, and no you cannot become a moderator WHILE banned, but you could become one AFTER being banned.

What being a moderator means to me:

Being a moderator will give me a chance to help with this forum. Sploder will be better and its full potential will be shown. Being a moderator shall allow me to enforce the rules, and bring about justice. MSM is a job that needs many qualities. It requires you to deal with multiple antics that may have got out of hand. I will put my heart, soul and anything else to this job. I pledge to do all of the deeds needed. I am active now and will be in the future. I see everything that happens on this site. I will be open towards peoples feelings, look on both sides of the story. I will not be aggressive nor passive, I will be as balanced as possible. I may be one of Sploder's younger members, but I am keen to help this site in every way I can.

Powers:

MSMs have powers, some not as powerful as others. Their jobs must be done relevantly. Those who choose to abandon the fair rules set can be punished in several ways. For the more severe matters banning may be necessary. If it is a minor crime, a warning would seem more fair. Moderators can also check a user's I.P address, (the unique group of numbers that identifies each internet-attached computer) so that they cannot try to sneak in to make a alternative and continue their antics. If this happens consecutivly a I.P ban may fit this perfectly. This stops them making any other accounts whatsoever. Moderators can remove/sensor comments that may offend members. If members want to take out their rage in a game Moderators can flag inappropriate games. Moreover, if they are even more offensive, it may be necessary to delete the games. If members want their deleted games back Moderators can restore them back to their beauty.

Last remarks:
MSM is a tough job. It requires some very useful social skills. Patience, a calm mind when under pressure to not be afraid when under pressure, and not power craving. A lot of Moderators will get angry comments such as, "why did you ban so and so" and "please ban someone", true it may be annoying, but Moderators need to ignore the pressure. Various offences need to have action taken such as spam, bypassing, innappropriate comments and more. It may give you popularity and fame, but the bright lights must not get in the way of a moderator's quest. That badge isn't a sign of fame, it's a sign of true maturity.

I've been here for two years, and I've seen many things, some of the things I've wanted to help and been limited to what I can do, If get that badge, the jobs people have been asking for me to do can now be dealt with. Case closed, thank you for reading.
300th thank~ Alonnesix
