I'll tell you before this gets sunk as it should be.
The time period before you can apply to be an editor is normally between 1 to 4 months use of the forums.
Applying to be an editor will require you to have made some games.
If you have not made many games or have few if any features chances are slim that you will become accepted as an editor.
You will be required to apply in the correct thread of which if you read more of the rules you will surely know which one.
Also note you will more likely be accepted as an editor if you choose to become a reviewer which logically is probably what you should be more concerned about doing right now.
You can apply for a Reviewers position in reviewers lane under applications.
