I was wondering...
« on: August 15, 2012, 12:02 pm »
I was wondering if anyone knows how to make an item with an adder that is attached to a main character move directions with the character. (so when the character is facing right shoots right, facing left, shoots left)
I would like any help I can get.

You can. Make the character, then the shooter, then put a connecter that starts from the character, and you have a character that shoots.
NOTE: I am assuming you know how to make a character and the shooting thing.

To have it go left and right, you need the character to be a graphic, and you need to put the shooter on it's right side. (Not right as in correct, right as in right and left) Sometimes it will work, but not always. Most of the time, it does.

Thanks for the info, I would like to sort of answer my own question at this time also, How you stated that we need to put it to the right of the character, that helped, but I would like to state that if you make it so that they don't have the same collision layer, that causes some issues too.

Yes, the character and the object being shot generally should have the same passthrough layer as well.
