A Guide to Hyping a Game {for Those Who Can't}
« on: June 24, 2012, 02:57 am »
Well, are you one of those people who just can't make a decent hype? Or are you a person who doesn't even know what it means to "Hype" a game? Well, this thread is for you!

 What Is Hyping?

 Hyping is basically when you make a thread about your game before it's made in order to make people super excited about it. At the moment, there is a catagory specifically for hyping you EGD (Epic Game Drop) game.

 Why Is Hyping So Important?

 Well, in reality, it's not as important as people make it seem. However, it's always fun to hype a game. However, the main reason is to convince people to get super excited. That's a major factor in gaining views. Especially during EGD, as thats a prime game making/playing day.

 If you wanna make a decent hype, continue reading.

What's some good things to include in a hype?

 The most important thing is INCLUDE LOTS OF INFO ABOUT THE GAME!!! I can't stress this enough! I've seen far to many hype threads that give NO INFO about the game! Some other things you might include are Screenshots, Trailers, Sponsors, or Posters.

 Screenshots?
 A screenshot is basically a little picture of the game (You can do the entire game, or just a small section). Screenshots will normally determine what people think of your game, so be careful! This can affect the amount of views you get!

 Trailers?
 Have you ever seen a trailor for a movie, and then thought "ZOMG! I HAVE to see that movie!" That's basically what a Sploder Trailer is. Just go around and record you playing some of the game, show the best parts, add text, ect. Or, of course, you could just get Matthade2 to do it!

 Posters?
 Posters are pictures (Not screenshots) That represent what the game is about, and also can really get people hyped up (which is your goal, after all). I also own a Poster Buisness, so check it out! http://forums.sploder.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=274653&page=1#Item_27

 Now, heres a few little tips;

 1) Always DESCRIBE YOUR GAME IN DETAIL!
 2) Make sure to add posters, trailers, screenshots, and other cool things!
 3) You could always add a little music to your hype thread (http://forums.sploder.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=241339&page=1#Item_30)
 4) Don't go lying about your game and saying it's far better than what it truly is (If you disapoint people, they won't play your games as often)
 5) If you still have trouble, please refer to the template below.

Wow, thanks for the guide. I have to admit I had no idea what a Hype is until I read this.
A pizza with ants....
Pessimist: There are ants in my pizza.
Optimist:OH YEAH! FREE ANTS!
Bear Grylls: There is a pizza in my ants.
